Pay per read

There are no subscriptions. A reader pays once for one press and keeps access.

The split

RecipientSharePaid to
Publisher90%The wallet that owns the press
Platform treasury10%The Capital Press treasury wallet

On a 0.50 USDG press, the publisher receives 0.45 and the treasury 0.05.

Amounts use USDG's six decimals. The treasury's share is rounded down and the publisher receives the rest, so the two always add up to the exact price.

Why two signatures

A payment of this kind goes to exactly one wallet. So each unlock is two small payments, and the reader signs both:

  1. Platform fee, 10%, to the treasury.
  2. Publisher, 90%, to the owner of the press.

The order is fixed. The publisher payment is accepted only after the fee is recorded for that wallet and press. If the second payment fails, retrying skips the part already paid.

How the money moves

Payments use the x402 standard with USDG on Robinhood Chain.

  • The reader signs an authorisation. Signing is free.
  • A relayer submits it onchain and pays the gas.
  • USDG moves directly from the reader's wallet to the recipient. Capital Press never holds it.

The signed authorisation names the exact token, amount and recipient, and expires after a few minutes. It can't be reused or redirected.

Safeguards

  • The server refuses a payment whose signed amount, token or recipient differs from what it charges.
  • The site refuses to ask your wallet to sign for more than the listed price.
  • The publisher's share goes to whoever owns the press NFT at that moment, read from the chain at payment time.

The one-time approval

USDG payments go through a standard contract called Permit2. The first time a wallet pays, it approves Permit2 to move its USDG. This is one transaction and needs a little ETH for gas. After that, every unlock is just two free signatures.

Access

Access is tied to the wallet that paid. One purchase per wallet per press, kept for good. A wallet can't pay twice for the same press.

Refunds

Publishers are paid instantly and directly, so Capital Press can't reverse a payment. Check the preview, audit score and votes before you unlock.

Nothing published on Capital Press is investment advice.
